About RCMSoft

The person behind the company

RCMSoft is me — Robert Martin, a software developer based in the Atlanta metro area, working with clients wherever they are.

I've been writing software professionally for over 20 years, working across a range of industries including finance, real estate, and e-commerce. I've built everything from internal line-of-business applications to customer-facing web apps to automation pipelines that quietly eliminate hundreds of hours of manual work per year.

Why I started RCMSoft

A lot of organizations have real software problems they're solving with spreadsheets, copy-paste, or manual effort — not because they don't know better, but because getting a development shop involved feels expensive and opaque. You don't always know who's actually doing the work, what it's going to cost, or whether the person you're talking to has any idea what they're talking about technically.

I wanted to offer something different: a direct relationship with a senior developer who will give you a straight answer about what's worth building, what isn't, and how to get there without overengineering it.

What I work with

My primary stack is C# / .NET and Python for back-end and automation work, with SQL Server for data. On the web side I work with standard HTML/CSS/JavaScript and have done significant work with Shopify's theme and app APIs. I also use AI tools heavily in my own workflow — including building custom integrations with the Claude API and MCP servers — so I can offer genuinely modern solutions, not yesterday's patterns.

I also build mobile apps for both Android and iOS. That matters more than it used to: a lot of the work I do involves getting data out of a back-office system and into the hands of people who aren't at a desk — field staff collecting information on site, managers approving something between meetings. Being able to build the phone side as well as the database and the API behind it means the whole path is one project rather than three vendors.

Note on working with me When you hire RCMSoft, you're working with me directly. I don't subcontract your project or hand it to someone junior after we've agreed on scope. That means the person you talk to is the person who writes your code.

How I work with clients

Most of my work is remote, and has been for years — screen shares, shared repositories, and regular written updates do the job well. When a project genuinely benefits from being in the room, whether that's early discovery, a data walkthrough, or training your team at go-live, I travel. Distance isn't the thing that decides whether a project works; clear scope and direct communication are.

Outside the office

I'm a lifelong Atlanta resident who runs, reads, and spends too much time thinking about software architecture.

Get in touch

The best way to start is to send me a message describing what you're trying to accomplish. I'll read it, think about it, and give you a real response — not a sales call request.
